There were a ton of great designs in the contest I ran on 99designs and there were three shirts that people picked out over and over but without any strong consensus of the three.
Ultimately, I picked this one as the official winner of the contest as it was so unique:

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
I was also able to strike deals for this design:
The $110 registration level expires one week from today! It will then go to $130 till the conference. If you've been procrastinating on registration, then this coming week is the time to do it! Why not register right now?
If you're a Strange Loop fan and interested in designing the Strange Loop conference shirt, there is now a contest open at 99designs. If your design is chosen, you can win $195!
Before you ask, t-shirts will not be included for free with your registration price. I've got enough crappy conference t-shirts filling my drawers to think that not enough people really use them. Shirts will be available for sale online and at the conference for a reduced price. :)
Dr. Stefan Schmidt (@schmidtstefan) has been working with SpringSource for almost two years and has been a key developer on the Spring Roo team in Sydney, Australia. Spring Roo is a project designed to assist you in creating fully working Java applications based on Spring technologies. Stefan will be speaking about Spring Roo at the Strange Loop conference.
During the conference event, I will need a lot of help to keep speakers on time, direct people where they should go, answer questions, and generally make things run smoothly.
If you're interested in attending the conference (for free!) and helping out, please drop me a line at strange.loop.stl@gmail.com.
I'm looking for the following:
- 5 room monitors - each monitor will have an assigned room for about 2/3 of the conference
- 1-2 tech gurus - to help with video and audio setup and issues throughout
I have created accounts for all registered attendees. Pre-existing accounts have been deleted. The new accounts have a special role that allows access to special features such as the ability to submit and vote on Strange Passion talks, which is now open for business!
For more info on the special Strange Passions talks, please:
Since the initial session list was posted, I've gotten some more detailed information on the keynotes from Alex Payne and Bob Lee and I thought I would highlight those again here.
I'm really excited to see both of these talks!
Alex Payne: "Minimalism in Software"
James Williams (@ecspike) is a co-creator of the Griffon project which allows you to develop desktop UI applications in Groovy using Swing. James will be presenting a talk about Griffon at Strange Loop entitled "Griffon: Swing just got fun again".
Strange Loop: Hi James, can you tell us a little about how Griffon got started?
Ok, there isn't really a Strange Loop street team, but if you're interested in getting the word out about Strange Loop within your own company or network, I've created a 1 page info sheet about it that is suitable for email, print, or framing. :)
You can get this info sheet in either PDF or JPG form.
Anything you can do to help get the word out would be great. Thanks!
Here it is:
Just a reminder that we are a mere two months away from Strange Loop! If you haven't registered yet, now is a great time to do it at http://busyeventxp.com/strangeloop for $110. In a few weeks the price will go up to $130, so don't delay.
If you've been eagerly awaiting more info on the Strange Passions talks, I have been busily hacking on the web site to get it put together, so sit tight for a few more days.
